NCAF - 40th Anniversary of CSBG Celebration
On August 13, 2021, the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) turns 40!
President Ronald Reagan signed the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1981 on August 13, 1981, which included the authorizing language for CSBG, preserving the network of our nation's Community Action Agencies despite the dismantling of the Community Services Administration. The Act also created LIHEAP and the Social Services Block Grant as we know them and reauthorized Head Start.
