House Education & Labor Committee to Hold CSBG Reauthorization Hearing
This Wednesday, November 3rd at 10:15 AM Eastern, the House Education & Labor Committee: Subcommittee on Civil Rights & Human Services will hold an important hearing on the reauthorization of the Community Services Block Grant. This is the first CSBG Reauthorization held by Congress in 18 years! There will be three witnesses testifying in support of H.R. 5129 - The Community Services Block Grant Modernization Act. They are:
• Katherine King Galian, Director of Family and Community Resources, Community Action Organization of Oregon
• Sharon Scott-Chandler, Executive VP/COO, Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD)
• David Bradley, CEO, National Community Action Foundation
There will be a Republican witness who has not yet been named.
The hearing is expected to last two hours. This hearing is an important step for House passage of the Community Services Block Grant reauthorization legislation.
