Weatherization Programs must soon start spending allocations from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL)/Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act (IIJA). The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of the Inspector General will explain how this allocation differs from regular program dollars, highlight lessons learned from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) era, and discuss their recent “Special Report on Prospective Considerations for the Infrastructure Law-Funded Weatherization Assistance Program”. Participants will learn how to define, identify, prevent and report waste, fraud and abuse, and the role of federal, state and local agents in each consideration.
