NCAP - Using Data to Develop Outreach Strategies for LIHEAP Grant Recipients
Join the Division of Energy Assistance (DEA) staff on June 18, 2024 at 1:00 pm Eastern Time for a one-hour webinar covering the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and its connections to the federal environmental justice initiatives. The webinar will be an opportunity to hear DEA staff present a data case study showing how the Office of Community Services (OCS) utilized LIHEAP grant recipients’ administrative data from federal fiscal years (FY) 2020-2021 to develop a spatial distribution map of LIHEAP-served households overlayed with data from the Climate and Environmental Justice Screening Tool (CEJST). This webinar will explain the federal definition of environmental justice and the use of the CEJST to assist grant recipients with the targeting of outreach for LIHEAP-eligible households in disadvantaged census tracts. DEA will provide national and a grant recipient example of the administrative data utilizing the broader lens of environmental justice and the impact of LIHEAP.
