NCAP - DOE Home Energy Rebate Listening Session: Community-Based Organizations and Grassroots Energy and Environmental Justice Groups
This listening session, hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), is designed for community-based organizations in a disadvantaged or frontline area and groups that work to address environmental and energy justice challenges. The goal of the session is to hear directly from leaders and members of community-based organizations and energy and environmental justice groups whose communities could potentially benefit from forthcoming DOE home energy rebate programs.
Through this session, DOE hopes to learn more about which program design choices can help make home energy rebates easily accessible and equitable for low-income households and residents of disadvantaged communities. DOE also would like to know how states, territories, American Indian tribes, and the federal government can best work with equity-focused organizations to promote and execute the delivery of home energy upgrades through these rebate programs.
The first half of the session will include an overview of the DOE home energy rebate programs and an open Q&A period. The second half of the session will consist of breakout conversations with small groups.
