There is still time access important Tax Credits!

If you haven’t filed your taxes yet (or know someone who still needs to), there are still options available.

There are some VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) sites working. You can call 2-1-1 to find one or go to Get Free Tax Prep Help on the IRS website.

Another option is MyFreeTaxes.com where you can file your own taxes.

If you, or someone you know, doesn’t need to file a tax return but has children and didn’t get the child tax credit, it’s not too late. GETCTC.ORG will be launching a child tax credit non-filer tool on or around May 11, 2022. It is important to remember that even though someone doesn’t need to file a return but has income they earned from a job, they should file a regular return as they will probably be eligible for the earned income credit as well.

Lastly, the IRS will be doing another “walk-in” Saturday on May 14th to help people who are having any issues with letters from the IRS or have other questions. The one thing they are not able to help with is preparing and filing a return. The address for Utah is 178 S. Rio Grande St., Salt Lake City, UT 84101. For other locations in the US please check their website IRS Face-to-Face Saturday Help | Internal Revenue Service.
