NCAP - Stacking Weatherization Funds With Habitat For Humanity
Habitat for Humanity of Omaha is the Weatherization Subgrantee for Douglas County, NE, which encompasses both urban and rural territory in the greater Omaha region. Weatherization is housed within Habitat’s home improvement portfolio, so clients come from multiple intake pathways. Danyelle Baratta, Senior Manager of Home Improvement Programs, describes how they identify clients, how they interact with Habitat’s home repair loan programs, and how they “stack” DOE, LIHEAP, utility, and foundation funds to maximize the weatherization and energy efficiency work they can perform on each project.
