NCAP - OCS World Water Week 2024 Kickoff: Understanding water affordability through a review of data and learning about water affordability programs available

The Office of Community Services (OCS) will begin in the celebration and recognition of World Water Week 2024 with a panel discussion. The discussion will highlight the impact of the Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) through review of the LIHWAP Implementation and Impact Report, Part 1. The discussion will also highlight findings from the LIHWAP Water Utility Affordability Survey Report. Panelists will join OCS and discuss how they are approaching water affordability and data analysis. Panelists include Chris Hornback, Deputy CEO and Kristina Surfus, Government Affairs Managing Director from the National Association of Clean Water Agencies, Tammy Maynor, Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, Robert Ballenger, Senior Attorney, Community Legal Services of Philadelphia, Tony Searls, Commercial Services Superintendent, Greater Cincinnati Water Works and Ellen Tarquinio with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, WaterSense Homes program.
