Part of Utahns Against Hunger’s community engagement plan for 2022-23 is to tour the state and host a series of stakeholder meetings with organizations that work to address food insecurity and provide direct services around food. We are reaching out to invite you to a stakeholder meeting we’re hosting in partnership with Utah Community Action in the Salt Lake/Tooele Region. This meetings will cover a range of issues to help identify regional community needs, barriers to accessing food and federal nutrition programs, and possible policy recommendations for our elected officials at the state and federal level.
For those of you who have attended previous meetings, we are making a few changes to the meeting’s agenda this year. First, we are broadening our audience this year to include elected representatives at the state, county and municipal level, and as well as community members who receive these services or want to learn more about food assistance in the region. Second, we are including additional time for folks to network and socialize with other direct service providers in the region.
We will be sending a follow-up email with an agenda for the meeting.
